Chair Yoga - for individuals with special needs
This class is designed for those of us who are not comfortable on the floor. It explores the same ground as that in Gentle Yoga except that all the poses are done seated in a chair. Great for people who have not exercised in a while, those who have health issues, people in wheelchairs with upper body mobility, seniors, and anyone recovering from foot or knee injuries. The class will increase your circulation and bring freedom of movement into the body. We will stretch our muscles and our minds.

Breathing Excercises - $7 per session - pre-registration required
This course will introduce you to breathing exercises which have the power to heal you physically as well mentally. Pranayama exercises are suitable for all age groups including pregnant women and kids. Benefits associated with these exercises are pain release, stress relief, increase in concentration level and lowering of the anxiety levels. Pranayama exercises will also help build up your immune system and clean the toxins from your body. Practice these exercises daily for half an hour starting from five minutes for healthy living.

Kundalini Yoga is a technology that works on the glandular system. It uses movement, sound current, breath and meditation to relax and heal your mind and body, allowing the spirit to flow freely; Kundalini Yoga brings a greater feeling of well-being and happiness. Kids Yoga is offering the kids to be kids within the context of animated and playful yoga poses and relaxation. Mindful active play can lead kids on the path towards a calm and balanced mind, as well as help them build a strong and flexible body - tools they can use in their everyday lives. Yoga at an early age encourages self-esteem and body awareness with physical activity that's non-competitive. This class is suitable for kids over the age of 4. If your child is younger and you think will be able to participate we are willing to accommodate.

Qigong Class
Qi is the invisible life force that flows through all living things. Qigong (Chee Kung) is an ancient Chinese art of energy (qi) cultivation (gong). Using simple exercises and meditations, one can learn to recharge, increase and circulate healing Qi. This can then produce better health and vitality, as well as a tranquil state of mind.
There are three core principles of Qigong practice which makes it so effective : focusing the mind to direct Qi, becoming aware of the breathing and combining these with correct body alignment and gentle movement. It has been said that with practice the mind, breath and body become one.
There are numerous types of Qigong. In these classes you will learn and experience selected exercises which can be used every day. Also, some Qigong Meditations and Healing Sounds will be explored which promote relaxation and healing. All of the exercises can be done by all ages because they allow for each person’s own individuality.

Bikram Yoga - Pre-registration required
Bikram Yoga systematically moves fresh, oxygenated blood to one hundred percent of your body and reaches each organ and fiber, thus restoring all systems to healthy working order. It is a routine of 26 poses, which works the whole body in 90 minutes. The poses work synergistically and cumulatively to return the body to a balanced state. Typically done in a heated room, we offer this class at room temperature and we receive the same results - Wellness, Restoration and Rejuvenation. Previous yoga experience is a prerequisite for this class.

Free Meditation and Talk
This is a comprehensive study course to facilitate the enlightenment which already exists within you. It will focus on the four foundations of mindfulness - mindfulness of the Body, mindfulness of Feelings, mindfulness of the Mind, and mindfulness of Dhamma Categories. Learn the Dhamma the way the Buddha taught.

Pilates
Pilates strengthens and balances the body as it focuses on the deep postural muscles within the body. Through a series of exercises aimed at building muscle strength and rebalancing the body, participants learn to engage their core muscles and leave class feeling stronger and standing a bit taller. Pilates is excellent for improving posture, strength and flexibility and is appropriate for all levels of activity. Now Pilates is part of your yoga membership.

Family Yoga - Pre-registration required
This is a light-hearted class for family fun. Age appropriate yoga poses, animated breathing exercises, and soothing relaxation techniques awaken the child in us all. Laughter and love fill each session and is sure to inspire the entire family's relationship. Cost: $7 for the parent, $5 for the first child, every additional child is $3.

Bellydance Fitness is an easy, fun and relaxing technique mixing Bellydance basic moves with exotic modern Arabic rhythms and hot Latin beats to exercise not only your body, but also you mind. Intermediate Belly Dance
Drum solo technique including shimmies, accents and locks. A choreography will also be taught so that students can dance to a dynamic drum solo.

Beginners Salsa Class
You will learn the fundamental footwork, turns and movements. We will cover right turns, reverse turns, male turn combinations and cross body lead with turns. Attention will be given to cross-body lead variations, right turn and reverse turn variations with emphasis on creating turnpattern combinations and styling. There will be a focus on checks, wraps, rainbows, shines, body movement and styling. We'll also introduce you to double spins and incorporate multiple spins into combinations. Combination work and styling tips are incorporated into every new pattern.

London Salsa Academy Dance Team
Salsa team is an opportunity to meet a large number of people in the salsa community. Team structure and instruction allow a dancer to grow at an accelerated pace. The team membership provide more instruction at a lower cost.
The London Salsa Academy Dance Team offers On1 Salsa on Mondays and On2 Salsa on Thursdays. There are curriculum and step syllabus which are introduced and practiced regularly. This curriculum is broken down into various levels which go from basics to harder and more complicated turn patterns. Eventually you will be tested on those levels and graded to mark your progress. Because this is a team that is slowly building... eventually the lessons will lead to Choreography. During the lessons everyone gets to learn(both men and women) on how to both lead and follow.

Intermediate Salsa
This class builds on the solid technical foundation that students have developed through the Beginners Salsa class. The fundamental techniques will be used and combined with additional core partnering components while continuing to build the students' rhythm & timing and their leading and following skills. In this class we will focus on lots of styling, body isolations and attitude, to polish your dancing. The course format is very similar to that of the Beginner class but the pace is much quicker and the variations and combinations are longer and more complex in order to prepare you for the rigors of the Salsa Team.

Power Yoga
The Sanskrit word Ha means "sun" and Tha means "moon," and thus Hatha, or literally sun-moon yoga, strives to balance opposing parts of the body and mind. This class will introduce students to basic postures (asanas), calming breathing techniques (pranayama), and meditation (dhyana) with the goal of bringing about a strong, flexible, healthy body and a clear, peaceful mind. Have fun learning how to walk with someone stuck to you. Sounds odd but that is what it's like when either leading or following someone. Slyde Dance Sport holds 6-week courses strictly for Beginners. In this beginners course, you will learn how to move to a variety of dances with a partner. However, you do not need a partner in order to join. We teach individuals of all ages to dance. Dancing is all about freedom of expression.We believe that if you want to dance with someone, regardless of what level of dancer you are, you should be able to express yourself within the rhythm of the song and allow the music to move YOU.
